Sarah Rowe

Director of Operations

Hello! My name is Sarah Rowe, and I'm the Director of Operations here at Mountain Watershed.

I was born and raised in Cook Township where you could find me as a kid playing in the streams right outside my house looking for crayfish, salamanders, and any type of wildlife I could find. I have always had a love for the outdoors but realized in my adult life the utterly unique and beautiful area that the Laurel Highlands is. I sought out to get more involved in learning about our region and how to be an active member in preserving it. In 2022 I completed the PA Master Naturalist program that connected me to so many wonderful like-minded people and organizations. In addition to continuing to be an active PAMN member, I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking and anything outdoors - hiking, kayaking, biking, cross country skiing, and fly fishing (which I picked up two years ago after attending an MWA clinic!).

When I first connected with MWA through events in the community, I knew I had to become involved. The engaging, educational and caring ways they connected really stood out to me. I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work here and contribute to our mission to protect, preserve, and restore the Youghiogheny River watershed and I look forward to contributing my experience in prior finance, accounting, and human resource roles to support the passionate and talented team at MWA.

I look forward to meeting you at our office or out and about in the watershed!
