We love taking groups on outdoor field trips, teaching paddling lessons, working on invasive species removal, and hosting cleanups! Experiential learning helps people build community and connect more deeply to the natural world.

Experiential Learning Options
Thinking about going on the water but not sure how to paddle? No worries. You’re in the right spot. We can teach your group basic paddling techniques on a local lake.Â
Canoeing is one of the best ways to explore the Youghiogheny River watershed. It’s peaceful, relaxing, and gives you a chance to enjoy nature up close. Whether you're floating past trees, spotting birds, or just soaking up the sunshine, canoe paddling offers a great mix of fun and calm.Â
Casting, baiting a hook, and reeling in your catch! We offer basic fishing instruction, a program best suited for kids and family groups.Â
We can create hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences focused on science and the environment. Students build critical thinking skills while interacting with local biodiversity to empower lifelong conservation actions and decision-making.
We can facilitate service learning projects that will help your group take agency to protect the natural world. Here are some options that groups have enjoyed:
- Invasive species removalÂ
- Trail work and repairÂ
- River/roadside cleanupsÂ
