Youghiogheny River Conservation Plan Public Meetings
August 16, 2023 @ 8:00 pm – August 18, 2023 @ 5:00 pm
What is a River Conservation Plan, anyway?
A River Conservation Plan is a comprehensive document detailing all the characteristics of a watershed, providing a holistic approach to preservation and protection. The document overviews all the existing studies for the region and will include a list of recommendations, that when implemented, will improve conditions within the watershed.
Mountain Watershed Association has created a draft of the Youghiogheny River Conservation Plan: Part 1, Dunbar Creek to Headwaters, under the guidance of Project Steering Committee and funded in part by PA DCNR.
All are welcome to learn about the conservation plan and give feedback!
The public meetings will be in three locations throughout the watershed:
August 16, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Garrett College Performing Arts Center in McHenry MD
August 17, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Tissue Farm in Confluence PA
August 18, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Ohiopyle State Park Falls Area Visitor Center (downstairs) in Ohiopyle PA
Come join us! Refreshments will be provided!
