Yough River Cleanup (West Newton)

We will be meeting at Cedar Creek Park in Belle Vernon between 9am-9:30am. We will float down to West Newton, end near the Giant Eagle, and will likely wrap-up between 2:30pm-3pm. Rafts, paddles, and life vests are available to borrow for the event, please email Eric@mtwatershed.com to reserve your raft! Shuttle service back to Cedar Creek Park will be provided. Please arrive early if you’d like to arrange shuttle.   Schedule for the Day: 9am -Breakfast and Register 9:30am -Shuttle to West Newton 10:15am -Gear Up 10:30am -River Time 2pm -Float under West Newton Bridge 2:30pm -Take Out at Municipal Access near Giant Eagle 3:30pm -Finish up and Head to Bloom Brew   **If you have a truck with hauling capacity to pull a trailer and wouldn’t mind helping us with shuttle and/or transporting rafts from the MWA office to Connellsville, please reach out to Eric.** This is a family friendly event. However, youth involvement on the river requires adult participation as well. After the cleanup, join us at Bloom Brew for a drink after a hard day of work. We had an incredible response from volunteers! We are currently maxed out for due to boat availability. Check back for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
