Yough Defense Party

This year, Mountain Watershed Association and the Youghiogheny Riverkeeper are taking fast action against threats to our beloved Yough River and its tributaries. We need your support more than ever to rally the community and Defend the Yough! We’ll have live music, free snacks, door prizes, gear raffle, a silent auction, and merch deals all night. Please consider bringing a potluck food item to contribute to the snack table!
Proceeds from the party benefit the Yough Defense Fund, which helps MWA accomplish the following goals (and more):
- Organize volunteer river cleanups
- Monitor the watershed for industrial pollution
- Protect communities from hazardous waste facilities
- Monitor coal mining operations
- And conduct critical outreach on mine expansions throughout the watershed
