Family Field Day at Laurel Hill State Park

Join us for the second annual Family Field Day at Laurel Hill State Park!
When? Saturday, June 15 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Where? Laurel Hill State Park, Willis Pavilion (near the swimming beach)
What? A free day of outdoor activities, fishing, and boating for the whole family! All materials and equipment provided by Mountain Watershed Association.
This family-friendly, outdoor event, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Education Grant, is free and open to the public. MWA and the park rangers at Laurel Hill State Park will provide a full day of fun, educational experiences to our local families.
The Field Day will be held at the Willis Pavilion at Laurel Hill State Park, near the beach swimming area. Activities will be dispersed along the crushed-limestone Copper Kettle walking trail that runs along the lake.
Schedule:
10:00 – 10:30 a.m. – Registration
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Birds and Trees
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Paddling 101
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Lunch
12:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Birds and Trees
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Paddling 101
All-day Activities: All About Seeds, Bird Atlas, Seed Pods, Pine Cone Bird Feeder, AMD Tie Dye, Fish Printing, Stream Exploring, Fishing, Canoeing, and Kayaking. These ongoing art and nature activities will be in and around the pavilion, and free fishing lessons are located near the dam.
Please bring: something white to tie dye, snacks, lunch, water, sunscreen, bug spray, a change of clothes, swimsuits, towels, appropriate footwear for hiking or being on the lake, and money for the concession stand.

There is a full service concession stand beside the lake, but MWA can provide a limited number of bagged lunches. If you need support with feeding the family, please let us know when you register.
Please note, as of 6/13/2024, the limited number of lunches MWA was able to provide have been spoken for, please plan ahead to bring your own lunch or swing by the concession stand.
