Amy Trembly
Conservation & Outreach Assistant
Hello, my name is Amy, and I am the Conservation and Outreach Assistant at Mountain Watershed Association.
I am originally from Maryland and earned my degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. While my background isn’t traditionally rooted in conservation, I’ve always had a strong connection to the outdoors, and I’m excited to be part of a team working to protect and celebrate the Youghiogheny River watershed.
In my role at Mountain Watershed Association, I support both fieldwork and community engagement efforts. One of my favorite projects is the Swimmable Water Testing program, which helps inform the community about whether local waterways are safe for swimming and recreation. I also assist with various outreach activities that connect people to the watershed and the importance of protecting it.
My favorite place in the Yough watershed is the Upper Yough River in Friendsville, MD. I love spending time there and especially enjoy whitewater kayaking on its exciting rapids.
In my free time, you’ll usually find me outside—fly fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, or out on the river. Being active in nature is a big part of who I am, and I feel grateful to work in a role that aligns so closely with my passions.
