On June 12, community members interested in the Indian Creek Valley Trail gathered to discuss the progress, development, and maintenance of the trail. A key issue at the meeting was the status of work occuring on the Gorge section. In April, a contractor was hired to begin working on the trail. So far they have completed the first phase of the project that included cleaning out the drainage ditch along the trail, installing 28 new culvert pipes, and rough grading of 4.3 miles of the trail.

Unfortunately, with the limited funds that we had, only Phase 1 of the project was able to be completed. As the contractors were completing Phase I they were also able to fix the landslide that was caused by excessive rain earlier this spring. To complete the entire project, more money still needs to be raised. Click here to read more about this project and learn how you can make a donation today!

During this trail meeting, many great ideas about fundraising were discussed. Ideas such as hosting a 5K/10K race, a Poker Run, and reaching out to different community groups and foundations were propossed. We’d like to hear from you! If you have any great fundraising ideas to offer or are interested in helping with anything that was suggested, please contact Peter at 724-455-4200 ext5# or peter@mtwatershed.com.
