On Wednesday, May 21, 2014 the Mountain Watershed Association will host a community meeting to discuss the proposed deep mine in the Donegal and Saltlick Township areas.  Community members are invited to attend to learn about the proposal, people and places that could be affected, and the timeline.  There will also be information on possible associated hazards including loss of property values, impacts to spring and well water, flooding of Champion Creek, the potential for new mine drainage discharges into Indian and Champion Creek, and noise and safety issues from heavy truck traffic and fans.

Mining maps will be available so residents can get a sense of the proposal and ensure their personal information is correct.  Area residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, offer ideas and opinions, and find out how to get involved.  Light refreshments will be available.  No RSVP is necessary.
